Golden gate Bridge ( Off the Shore Shot)
The Golden Gate Bridge was the longest suspension bridge span in the world when it was completed during the year 1937, and has become one of the most internationally recognized symbols of San Francisco, California Construction began on January 5, 1933.The project cost more than $35 million. The Golden Gate Bridge construction project was carried out by the McClintic-Marshall Construction Co., founded by Howard H. McClintic and Charles D. Marshall, both of Lehigh University.
Hstory/People
Like any civilazation populations grow and with the many commerce and economic building blocks brought in imigrants from other countries to get into a prosperous community and with the demand to commute grew so did the intrest to get across the bay. To get across the bay was a ferry ride , which was about a 30 min ride.
Vision
Started with a massive idea with litttle support due to its large scale and budget. Support from others had to be made in order to acheive success to proceed years later. But once the construction started with approval, it became an awe inspiring veiw.
Cost
First esitimated cost of this project was in the firld of 100 million dollars and that just was regarded as a unrealistic amount of money. The project cost more than $35 million. Today it would cost in the range of 1.77 Billion dollars.
Upkeep Cost / Toll
To this day the Bridge is maintained everyday through many form of tests. Like all things in time they break down and fall apart, through erosionand age. Wear and tear will eventually bring this bridge down, and another would have to take its place. To upkeep all this is through the cost of a toll and as of today the toll is 6 dollars and up.
